Grandson EP Redesign
A bold reinterpretation of Grandson’s debut EP, this cover channels the raw energy and unrest of the music through gritty textures and striking visuals, reflecting themes of rebellion and societal collapse.
This project reimagines the visual identity of Grandson’s A Modern Tragedy Vol. 1, an EP fueled by defiance, social unrest, and emotional rawness. The redesigned cover captures the EP’s volatile energy through gritty textures, distorted imagery, and a stark, rebellious palette—visually echoing Grandson’s unfiltered sound and politically charged voice. Every element, from typography to composition, reflects themes of identity, chaos, and resistance.
To accompany the cover, I created a custom lyric book that brings the EP’s words to life through expressive layouts and experimental type. Each spread is designed to mirror the mood of its respective track—loud, tense, and confrontational—while maintaining cohesion across the piece. The book serves not only as a companion to the music, but as a visual protest piece in its own right, bridging the space between sound, message, and design.
